With the beautiful wilderness of Canada as a backdrop, the calming sounds of nature serve to promote mindfulness. Molly Rose is a fitness girlie and former ballet dancer. Her repertoire of stretches are low impact and very effective. Molly’s stretches serve to both relax the mind, body and spirit, as well as to tone your body. The gentle stretches can be used to cool down after a strenuous workout or to warm up before a fitness routine.

Molly performs her curated set of stretches to promote relaxation and flexibility. These stretches can be performed as a peaceful and gentle way to start your day in the morning, or at night to decompress after a long day. These Yoga based stretches are good for any time when you want to relax or unwind. Using Yoga as the basis for these stretches can help to relieve pain as well. Low impact exercises do not unnecessarily stress the body. Molly invites you to follow along with her routine in the meadow, during a beautiful early summer morning. Molly’s elegant stretches in nature are designed to promote inner peace, as well as to keep you limber. The body moves in harmony with nature when performing Yoga poses, as it is designed to do. These stretches are performed to loosen stiff and tight joints in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Molly commences her stretch with a classic sun salutation Yoga pose, to help ease into the stretch. Then she eases into a leg stretch, alternating each leg and using balance and coordination, which Yoga also enhances. Molly lifts her head gently while keeping her spine in alignment, as she stretches her arms side to side. She lets her head fall gently to the side. This stretch eases neck strain, especially the kind which comes from “tech neck.”

Molly’s gentle and controlled series of movements are easy on the joints, while getting results. These stretches can also be used as a low impact workout, in your first forays into fitness. Molly reaches high with her arms and then assumes the upward facing and then downward facing dog stretch. The upward and downward facing dog poses are very good for spine alignment, and lower back tension and pain. Next up are the stretches that are good for balance and mobility.

Balancing on one leg while bending the alternate leg with her other arm outstretched, is also great for her posture. This stretch is performed alternating the right and left legs. Molly then stretches her legs from left to right and back again, as she leans in to a downward stretch. This stretch loosens her hip joints and flexors and helps to improve your range of motion The next set of stretches are perfect for stiff shoulders as Molly leans over with her hands stretched above her neck, whilst her head is facing down. This stretches out your shoulders and upper back.

Loosening the tightness in the pelvic and hip bone areas is done with a series of gentle, rolling stretches while balancing on each leg. Molly then performs a series of alternating arm stretches, as she extends her arms from side to side. Molly concludes her stretch routine a she sits down on the ground and rolls her head from side to side, as she eases into a back bend. She then performs a bridge as she stretches out each leg, focusing on the calf and thigh muscles. Molly finishes with a down ward facing dog yoga pose. Molly’s approach to fitness incorporates the sound of nature and stillness instead of guided verbal instruction. These stretches help promote relaxation and mindfulness and the harmony of mind and body.
